Adding an Externals Tab
External User Manager allows you to easily manage Guest Access across your entire tenant, but sometimes it makes more sense to control access for a specific Team instead.
In order to provide you with a higher degree of granular control for a specific team, we've implemented an option to add EUM as a separate channel-specific app, allowing you to use all of the key functionality within the confines of a single Team.
Let's go through this process together to better understand how it can improve your Guest Governance Infrastructure.
⚙️ Setting Up the Externals Tab
- Select any Channel within the Team you'd like to manage.
- Click the + button on the top bar of the Channel to add a new app.
- Select External User Manager from the list.
- Consider deselecting the Post to the channel about this tab checkbox if you don't want to notify people about this addition.
- Click Save when done.
If you want to allow External Users to request other External Users, simply navigate to Settings > Expert Mode > Request, make sure that the Auto-Approve user requests setting is disabled, and enable the Let guests request other guests via 'Externals'-Teams tab toggle.
⚡ Utilizing the Externals Tab
Once the Externals Tab has been added to a Channel, you can switch to it and find a cut-down mini-instance of EUM that only interacts with the corresponding Team.
You can Add and Approve External Users, change between Card and List View, and look through any relevant Guest Details.
